approves acquisition of CTV by BCE (Canada) Dec. 7/2000
- NFL Sunday Ticket package, comprised of all the CBS/Fox Sunday football
telecasts, will return to analog C-band big dishes in 2001
- exploring the option of offering the package in a digital format compatible
with 4DTV receivers
- the three main CBC analog satellite feeds on the Anik E2 satellite will
be around for a little bit longer
- Atlantic and Pacific feeds (transponders 9 and 5) will not make the
switch until Dec. 12
- Montreal feed (transponder 1) will remain analog until January 8, 2001
- no word yet when the collector feeds (transponders 17 and 23), which
also show Saturday night hockey on an occasional basis, will make the
transition
- NASCAR has released its 2001 telecast schedule, and several TV changes are
in store for race fans. 28 Winston Cup races will be shown on Fox and NBC;
another 10 are set for FX and TBS

F1 sucessful launh and will under go undergo two months of testing and
should be fully operational by the middle of January 2001
- In March,2001-> Showtime will introduce three new channels to its Showtime
Unlimited digital package in an effort to broaden network appeal. The new
channels include: Showtime Next, Showtime Women and Showtime Familyzone. These
channels have East and West Coast access, and they will have enhancements
like Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, Spanish-language SAP and HDTV.
- GI/Motorola sent (late Nov 17/00) 4dtv owners mail to the 4dtv->C1 renamed
W7; No new C1 sat. mapped yet; M1 & S4 remoed from sat option 6-4-4; X4
750-757 moved to C4 750-757; X4 86-867 not yet relocated; www.4dtvforum.com
- DCII channels move to C4 ->9 Cannel channels (unplug and reboot to get
new maps) & the 8 DMX music channels not available
- On December 1, 2000 ->Showtime 2 East will end it's Analog Version on
C4/20,the C3/102 DCII (4DTV) will continue. Sundance East Analog Channel on
G10/14 (GO/14 4DTV) will move to this sat-transponder and appear simutainously
for a smooth switch over.
- C1 is replaced by GE-7
located at 137 degrees West
- This year the NFL Sunday Ticket will be on G3: 2,3,4,5,15,18,23 T5:
5,7,12,14,23,24 The Sunday Snap will be broadcast on both satellites G3-23
and T5-14. Late afternoon games will all be broadcast from G3. Sunday night
games will be on ESPN and Monday Night games will be on ABC.
- INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (BW). WOW-Women of Wrestling, the television series,
is scheduled to premiere nationally in first run syndication during the broadcast
week of October 2, 2000. The first three-hour live event will be taped before
a live audience on Saturday, September 16, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at the Great
Western Forum. It will highlight 15 matches starring more than 35 strong and
beautiful female wrestlers. The second live event taping is scheduled for
Saturday, October 7, 2000.
- CBC will go digital November 30, 2000 -they will be using Tandberg
digital receivers with 8PSK modulation as opposed to the QPSK standard
- For reception CBC stations will be using Tandberg TV Alteiaplus digital
satellite receivers with 8PSK demodulation (don't know if they will be
fta or scrambled)
- CBS on T4 has gone digital (DCII) and you need commercial equipment to receive
this transmission that is not available to the public. Not to mention the
fact that only a CBS station can get it authorized to recieve these feeds.

- Joe York from NPS said on Sunday night satellite (Sept. 3/2000) said hardware
problems expect to see Fox up nextweek Tues-Friday & this is what the
first of the fox channels will be:
- 401 FSMW (mid west)
- 402 FSNW (north west)
- 403 FSA (arizona)
- 404 Sunshine
- 405 FSW (west)
- 406 FSSW (south west)
- Joe York from NPS said look for Fox Sports to come sometime this week (Aug
28 - Sept 1) ->satellite W4 400 series channels; will have to get new maps
on G0 when available (Aug. 29 now & not online yet)
- Mr. Cornwall (GI/Motorola) Sales manager said the following on Sunday (Aug.
28/2000) night satellite talk:
- today over 100,000 units of the 920 are in operation --good news
- looking for some promotion of 922 might be to trade in 920 to GI and
pay $500 and get a 922 would be a limited time offer possibly Nov.1-Dec

- there will be a digital DCII side car add-on receiver to existing analog
c/ku band receivers -MSR $449 & est. street price $399 due out mid
to late Feb 2001
- GI delays new 4DTV 922 hopes it will be avail. by late September to ship
first units
- NPS hopes to have 4DTV Digital Fox sports channels avail. sometime in mid
to late August
- G4 replaces G11 or GB on the 4DTV located at 99Degrees West ->GB moves

- HBOHighDefinition has moved from G1 to Satellite T7 (Trs.118&120 )->to
receive new maps you may have to do the unplug manual boot
- GI has announced that a new 4DTV model number 922 is due out by late July
and will cost the same as the 920 models (920 models will sell for $100 less)
-features include a faster processor, dual a/v out including coaxial spdif
out, base band out, new built in comb filter for constant s-out & the
front looks identical as the 920 model
- Bet on Jazz has moved to Tr.2 from Tr.21 on satellite G7 & Bet Action
PPV has moved to Tr.21 on satellite G7
- UPN 2ndary feed is going digital (DVB) June 30/2000
- TVN changes transponders and this is causing the IPG to not load and DMX
channels to not be available...to fix this problem (IPG) go to C3 and tune
to any Discovery channel or G1 600 or go to G1 100 and unplug the 4DTV for
about 1/2hr then turn on and leave on channel for about another 1/2hr then
hit guide and you should be able to get the IPG to work (might have to tune
to G0 tr. 9 first then hit guide)
- Delay on Fox Sports channels ->NPS says they will be available in July
(who knows?) they will sell the Fox channels in a digital package that includes
Music Choice, MTV music suite and Discovery on C3, and the IPG -this deal
is only available through NPS -subscriptions to music choice, discover and
the GI IPG aren't known (any ways who would pay for the IPG)
- IMN (Independent Music Channel) is now available on T7 channel 800 (clear
doesn't plan to encrypt) ->broadcasts started June 1,2000
- A&E now has a West feed on G10 in VCII+ & The Outdoor Channel moves
to G10 Tr. 24 (clear NTSC)
- NPS announces (April 20, 2000) that FOX sports are coming back to the 4DTV
-June 1, 2000-> PAX (Ge-4 tr.16) will terminate
& WWOR (GE-4 tr.14) will terminate and FOX Sports will be uplinked on
these two transponders that are currently owned by NPs ->Cost should be
around $12.95/month for these channels
- just rumors but HBO might decide to uplink their channels on C-Band in 5.1
audio sometime in June 2000 (not confirmed, just rumor)
- HITS is uplinking some DCII channels on G11 & its current DCII channels
on sat G7 will terminate sometime in 2002
- S4 at 81 degrees is testing
- G11 is now operational at 99 degrees and is called GB in the 4DTV &
G6 is going to be moving East
- HDD200 -decoder/exciter is now available at most Canadian dealers for around
$1099.99 plus applicable taxes -As all StarChoice Canadian Mini-dishes use
the same High Definition box (HDD200) as the 4DTV uses
- G9 is now in position at 127degrees and is fully operational -G9 is now
between G5 and T7 -Tr. 2 is Gospel Music and Tr.4 Test Card ...keep looking
for more channels to show up
- G10 is now operational where G9 use to be (123 degrees)-GI has sent updates
to the 4DTV to make G9 ->G0 (G10 is a C & Ku bird)
- NBC on C1 (F1) Tr. 8 will be going digital 3/31/2000
- M2 on G10 has moved from transpnder.6 to Tr.16 (March 2000)
- alternative to a hard boot (unplug receiver) is to do a software reset on
the 4DTV ->go to satellite G9 transponder 11, Options 6, 0, 5, <, <,
[screen F], then press Info [registers will reset], then press Guide to get
net Guide Info.
- Showtime will add Dolby Digital to its digital feeds and will broadcast
HDTV feeds (east and west in 1080i format) on Jan 23, 2000 at 8:00pm
